.: Couple things :.

Couple things today. I went out and bought a new watch on Thursday. First time buying a Timex, but it's a $15 timex, not a $150 Timex. We'll see how it holds up. So far, the armitron's I've been buying are still working (even the 3 year old one) but the bands all broke on them. I imagine (hope) that this one is the same, although I also hope the band doesn't go out. Obviously.

Those of you not in the know about my livejournal might be interested in checking it out. I haven't done anything fancy to it. At the moment theres only three posts. I update it whenever I feel like it, which so far has been about once a month. I guess I don't really put anything special there, I do plan on using this as my main journal thingy... I made an LJ so I didn't have to post anon on other peoples LJ, and one day I made a post to it (roughly... a year after I got it). Uh... Yeah. Latest post is just pictures of me, so, I guess you're not missing anything. Here.

Thanksgiving came and went, hope you all had a good one. I think this is probably the first year in a long while that I didn't mind eating leftovers for four days afterwords. Black friday was pretty good to me, I'm sure most of you have noticed by now that I'm hardly online anymore. I went out and bought a PS2 (the smaller kind) that came with a Ratchet & Clank game and an extra controller for the retail of just a PS2. I also bought FF12. Needless to say, I have still not unwrapped the celophane from Ratchet & Clank.

Unfortunately, now that it's Monday, the people down at U of I have left again, and I barely saw any of them. I didn't see Mark again since we bought the Wii that night, which means it'll be Christmas break before I give the judgement on it. He is steadfast in saying that the new Zelda is the epitome of awesome. I also haven't gotten my Wii shirt back from the wash, I wonder what happened to it... This is intriguing.

Still downloading Ghost in the Shell from KAA. It has not picked up in download speed. I'm working on 9-12 now, with 1-8 having recently completed. I'm also in the process of getting the entirety of Neon Genesis Evangelion, which I have yet to see. It's always been on my list of things I need to get, but I never got around to it, and then one day while looking through the pirate bay I noticed it had about 10 torrents updated recently and I thought, why the hell not. So, thats 8 and a half gigs in coming. Currently I've watched to episode 12, and it's pretty good. I like most of it, and can't quite put my finger on what I don't like about it, so I guess that means there's nothing I don't like about it. Episode 20 of the show I have been watching is currently being encoded, so I can expect to be able to watch that tomorrow or something. I'm excited.

Lastly, the reason I started this was because while watching the download for NGE slowly putter along, I was in deep daydreaming (I'm too tired to try and beat my expert mode minesweeper score at the moment. Which by the way, is a horrible 380 seconds). And I thought about this alternate reality where the sole purpose of life was to create and play video games. Basically, I might have been dead for a brief minute and floated to heaven, only to have God smack me in the face and say "Get back down there, you're not done yet!" Unfortunately for religious buffs, I didn't get a glimpse of what God looked like.

I suppose maybe I'll try and take a nap, then do some physics homework thats due Wednesday that I have no motivation to do.

Also, tomorrow I'll probably be registering for classes for next semester.

.: My Watch :.

band broke. Damnit. I suppose I kind of need a new watch anyway, the LCD screen is starting to fade on the right side for unknown reasons. Perhaps water seeped in? I'm not sure.

Also, for those inclined, xkcd is a great webcomic.

.: New News. :.

Well.

Last night was pretty fun. I visited my friend Mark's house, and met up with him & my other other friend Jehosh. We played some GCN before Jehosh had to go, and then Mark & I went to Toys'R'Us to try & get in on the midnight launch of the Wii. Unfortunately, by the time we got there, they had already handed out tickets and didn't have enough.

So, we went home, looked up some videos and stuff on IGN, played some more GCN, and then went to bed. Got up at about 6:50 or something, and went to target for their 8am opening of the Wii launch. We arrived at about 7:20, and got in line just as they were handing out tickets, and we were the last people they had a ticket for. It was pretty sick. They even gave us free t-shirts ^_^ So, now I have a pretty cool Wii t-shirt, and Mark's got his own Wii. We didn't have much time to play it, 'cause I had to go home and Mark had to study. I'll report back later the fun status of the new Zelda :P

As a sidenote, if for some really odd reason, the Wii goes on sale for black friday, I might buy one. Just because... it would be on sale 6 days after release. But there aren't very good odds of that happening, so, I probably won't buy one.

In more personal news, I'm switching to business major I think. Since I withdrew from those math classes, I figure CS is probably not for me. And since I want to start my own business, I figure, why not start on a business major? I haven't registered for new classes yet, but I'll probably get that done soon. Not sure if I want to keep going on the physics track that I'm on, just because I'm doing pretty well in it, even though it's not part of the business major. I'll have to decide before I register, because I'd like to keep the teacher I've got now, and I only know for sure he'll be teaching this spring semester of that class.

I finished downloading an ISO of FF12, and tried to play it on an emulator for a bit, before I finally got to the part where I take control of a character, and they're explaining the controls... And I can't procede until I move the camera with the analog stick. DOH! I don't have an analog stick. So I can't play. ><

Lastly, I think my dad forgot he didn't want me on the computer. Earlier the internet was pretty shitty apparently, and while I was sitting on the couch beating Skies of Arcadia (console gaming while I can't PC :P ) he asked me if I was downloading... Which would imply he forgot. For now I won't risk it while he's home. My mom doesn't care if I'm on, which is pretty nice.

.: Long Months Ahead :.

Well, I just had a long and annoying chat with the eldest in the house, and it's looking like it's going to be a long couple months until January rolls around.

I'm dropping two classes, putting me way under full time student. I'm dropping them because I'm not doing well, I knew it a long time ago, and I'm basically probably not going to keep going in school, at least not for that major.

I'm thinking more and more that I'm probably going to start the business I've been thinking about. A small internet cafe/LAN gaming thing. No clue where, but not here. That much I do know.

Basically, if you guy's want to keep in touch with me, call me. My dad's trying to parent again, and he's doing the old "you don't do what I want you to do, you can't do what you want to do" thing. So, because I will not work this semester, no ifs ands or buts, then I'm not allowed to use my computer unless I'm working on something for school (aka, I'm becoming a console gamer again in a couple days). We'll see how long it takes for me to beat Skies of Arcadia now, heh. I'm fairly confident that eventually, long into the future, I'll look back on this and be like, "Wow." I'm not really what else I'll say. Mmmm. Alright. Well, you all know my phone number... Hm. At worst, if you wan't to get into contact with me, I know you all know somebody who does know my number. :P

Keep in touch.

.: First Breath :.

Well. Last night at about 3:30 or 4 am (and I get up at 6 am to go to school) while I was lying in my bed trying to sleep I thought about all sorts of things. At the time I was tempted to go turn my computer back on and write them all down here, because some of them related to a couple posts back, my "Yawn" entry. I came up with a reason why I'm so shy (it's all my brothers fault, too), and probably a couple other things that are escaping me at the moment...

Recently my dad, being the weirdo he is, converted a collection of tapes to CD (mp3 format, his car stereo can play them). Unfortunately for me, these tapes consisted of those like, motivational speaker kind of things. So every day on my way home from school he'd play another tape (essentially). I admit, they were useful for napping purposes. I think a few subconsciously seeped into my brain, and one of them was about the "power" of empathic listening. This is somewhat important. I suggest that it is my brother's fault that I'm shy. Last night I had this all worked out beautifully, it hit me like density and displacements hit Archimedes. If I can remember it somewhat correctly, it has to do with my brother teasing me. I believe it has something to do with emotional reactions, (according to that speaker guy) when you want to say something and whatever you say is immediately made fun of, you become less and less interested in saying anything. Or something. So that's that, my brother is an asshole and he fucked me up.

(I totally didn't intend to explain that... Oh well.)

Oh, and one more thing, if what I said in the comment with the supposed "Jeff Desch" has thrown anybody off asking about what I mentioned in "Yawn" (I admit I was kind of hostile), I'll try and not do that. But seriously. Did my mother beat me... What kind of question is that?

I've been rewatching Ghost in the Shell's 2nd season, and I found out that KAA & a4e are both doing it right now, and at roughly double the quality of the ones I have right now. So, I'm getting those :P Going slow right now, but perhaps it'll speed up later...

.: Crap :.

For all you who don't speak Japanese but are interested in anime, don't watch raw episodes that don't have subtitles like I just did. Fuck.

At least I managed to find some subtitles and attempt to watch it in VLC which sucks at reading them, but is unfortunately the only player that can. I ended up watching it with the subtitle file open below it to read what I was missing. Bleh. Great episode, but I wish I hadn't done it now.
