.: Forced :.

Ryan's making me blog for some reason. I assume he is bored out of his mind so badly that in order to entertain himself, he must read my blog and perhaps find new ideas of activities. Maybe? Ah well, at least somebody reads this.

So I was reading slashdot the other day (yesterday?), and there was an article about zombie dogs. I was like, "What the hell?" so I was forced to read it. Apparently, real story, some scientists have managed to kill a dog, pump it with an ice cold liquid, and then later put its normal blood back in and restart its heart. Not kidding. They say they did tests on it and there was no noticable brain damage either. Holy shit, zombie dogs. They say that they plan on using the technology on humans sometime this year. Zombie humans? I have decided if this doesn't make every single religious person in the world freak out, the only thing that will will be an apocolypse. Think about it, this just stabs religion with a knife, and then it smashes whats left with a giant mace. You kill a guy, then bring him back to life? They say they might be able to use it to cure people with fatal gunshot wounds by killing them with that method, treating the wounds, and then bringing them back to life. I'm not sure why you would want to risk killing them and then bringing them back to life again, but if it works thats pretty crazy.

Anyways... I was planning on inviting a friend of mine over today to watch Appleseed and probably some other anime, but she couldn't come because she lacks a car. ;_; Me too.

I found some really awesome addon's to WoW yesterday. A friend of mine mentioned that his addons could do some things, but he didn't know where to get them online, so I went hunting and found them. Nobody who reads this plays WoW, so it won't be very impressive, but one of them automatically marks the map whenever you find plants or treasure chests, or an ore deposit. And then, it will put it on the mini map and tell you how far away in seconds it is to that deposit. I can't describe in words how awesome it is. The other one is just a database of all the items I've ever seen, and how much they sell for if I talked to a merchant with it still in my inventory. That one isn't so useful for most things, but it also tells you when you mouseover it how much its worth. So, when you're looting, and your bag is full or something, you can decide what you need to drop based on cost and pickup what is worth more. Yeah. And since Ryan managed to get me to do this right as I was loading WoW, I will continue to load WoW & then waste the night away playing it. Good day. ^_^

.: hm :.

Well. A few things to mention today.

Number one: I applied for a job at UIUC that involves maintaining simulators using the Perl language and TLC which is apparently an extremely basic scripting language. (that I could pick up in a few days) If I get the job, it'll be quite the learning experience, as it will be my first job, and it involves some pretty intense learning I think. I've never done any work with a simulator before, and I imagine those things are not simple to maintain. Also, the job description said that experience with A/D converters is a plus. I didn't even know that A/D meant analog/digital so, I imagine since experience is a plus, that those are also a pain in the ass >.< But the pay is awesome, and I'll learn a ton so... cool beans.

Now that I've said that, it's on to the more fun things! LAN party tomorrow all the way through Saturday! More than twelve hours of LAN party! Wooooo! Ok, yeah and then after the party I'm going to try and stay awake long enough to go to a graduation party (we graduated what, a month+ ago now?) for a good friend of mine who happens to live only a few blocks south of the LAN party. Yeah, hopefully that will go well.

And onwards! I beat Deus Ex, and saw all three of the different endings. They all kinda sucked, it was kind of depressing to get to a bad ending after such a fun game. After I beat it I looked around for some cheats and found a ton, so I played the first level over again with a rocket launcher. Twas fun.

I paid for three months of WoW on Tuesday I believe, and it's been a lot of fun. I'm slowly edging towards level 60, which will be awesome. And now I can finally talk to Jordan. He's almost always on AIM but he never really responds. But now that I'm on WoW he usually responds on that, so yay.

Lastly, I mentioned last post that all my parts came in and that I got it up and running and stuff. Yeah, it is awesome. I didn't really notice how great of a card I bought until I started up WoW again and set everything to max, and the world changed so drastically. Now they is reflections on the grass and I can see the waves on the water as it slowly goes by... Everything just looks ten times better. I'm thoroughly impressed. That said, I still have some more things I need to get >.< My new case didn't come with any fans, so I'm pretty sure it gets kinda hot in there. I need to get a couple of fans, and possibly a light so that the side of my case doesn't look so bland. I just thought of how awesome it would be if I cut a hole along the bottom of my computer so that it would look like it had an underlight... That would be hilarious and yet awesome at the same time. Oh, and I need a DVD burner so I can clear up some space >.< My 120GB hard drive is almost full, only thing left is about 20GB that I'm saving for music. When I get to UIUC, supposedly I'm not allowed to download anything like that because the RIAA sorta forces them to check or something dumb like that. So since the RIAA pressures them, if they catch me then I'm pretty much screwed or something along those lines. So yeah, DVD burner so I can get a bunch more games and anime before I go off to college. Maybe if I get that job I'll actually be able to buy games... That would be cool.

Stratovarius is... rock metal... sorta.

EDIT: Woah, I reread the last post. I completely forgot about registration. It went pretty well, and I only have one class that forces me to get up early, and it's a lab at 8:00 so... It can't be that bad. Then again, it's a Monday... And I found out that there are other chicks interested in CS. I was totally amazed, but that day alone there were two other females both in the computer related portion of Engineering. Also, they were the only two females in Engineering. I got my UIUC ID too... The picture's ok, but past that the ID is rather interesting. There's a magnetic strip on the back, so I assume that it has something to do with the food plans. It also lists pretty much every other piece of ID they gave me, from my "NetID" to my student number. mm... OH, and Dad let me sleep on the way there ^^ So I got about four or five hours of sleep before we got there. Wasn't even that tired afterwards.

.: Wee :.

New parts came in... technically yesterday. Took about five or so hours to move the appropriate pieces to different places. Everythings up and running now, beautifully. Now I need to get my hands on a DVD burner and some DVDs so I can clear up space on my harddrive. Maybe a SATA hard drive instead... I'll look into those.

I found a space sim that I really like, but it's a bit overpriced, so I'm not going to pay for it... What sucks is it's an MMO, so I can't really play it much past the trial account. It's pretty fun though. Uh, it's called EVE online, and getting a trial account takes some work.
You can go here to get a trial account, but beware, it's in German (the game isn't, I can't find the trial account page in English anywhere). The first blank is for the code thats in the picture, used to make sure you're not a 'bot. The second one is a valid email address. You can download the game here(500mb), I suggest the torrent, as the other download sites are in England.

Yehp... Going to U of I for registration in about 4 hours. I'm going to be tired as all hell but oh well. I need to get some sleep... So I'll post today as to how it went probably. Night night.

.: Test :.

I just got around to checking out everybodies blog/LJ what-have-you and noticed a pretty cool test on Senpai's...

Your brain: 60% interpersonal, 100% visual, 100% verbal, and 140% mathematical!
Congratulations on being 400% smart! Actually, on my test, everyone is. The above score breaks down what kind of thinking you most enjoy
doing. A score above 100% means you use that kind of thinking more than
average, and a score below 100% means you use it less. It says nothing
about how good you are at any one, just how interested you are in each, relatively. A substantial difference in scores between two people means, conclusively, that they are different kinds of thinkers.

Matching Summary: Each of us has different tastes. Still, I offer the following advice, which I think is obvious:

  1. Don't date someone if your interpersonal percentages differ by more than 80%.
  2. Don't be friends with someone if your verbal percentages differ by more than 100%.
  3. Don't have sex with someone if their math percentage is over 200%.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
free online datingfree online dating
You scored higher than 47% on interpersonal
free online datingfree online dating
You scored higher than 60% on visual
free online datingfree online dating
You scored higher than 73% on verbal
free online datingfree online dating
You scored higher than 73% on mathematical

Also, I find that note at the bottom about not having sex with somebody who's math % is over 200% interesting. At first I thought it was mean, and then I thought about it for a minute and realized that if they scored over 200% then they're severly lacking in the other areas, and that they probably wouldn't be a very good partner anyway...

.: old news :.

Well it's old news to anybody who knows me IRL but I've been playing Deus Ex for a while now, and I think I'm getting close to beating it. It's a really fun game, I'm not surprised it won GotY some five years ago. I figure once I beat that I'll hook myself up with some more WoW to satisfy an addiction I've managed to not pull my hair out over.

I figured I'd mention that... Uh, some newer news: last friday (not the 3rd) I held a "Graduation LAN Party" with about 6 people total. It went okay, but I don't think I could have done much to make it better. On the lines of computers, I bought some new parts for my computer today, a total of $589.99 in parts, including a new motherboard, CPU, and a much much nicer video card. Soon, there will be no lag on my computer with ANY GAME!! MWAHAHAHAH

Er. Sorry. >.> Hm. I opened a checking account and threw in all my graduation money I got (which was quite a lot, awesomely enough). Went out and used my first check today on some new headphones that are like my old ones that went behind the ear. I like them a lot so far, they're really loud (not that I have it blasting, but that I could) but the cable's a bit short. I knew that going in, though, so I bought a 6 foot extention cable for it, which should allow me to plug it in the back of my computer and have my computer on the floor and still be able to comfortably move around my room if I wanted to. I don't plan on that (my compy wouldn't fit underneath my current desk anyway), but I don't know how my dorm room will be laid out so I figured I should make sure I can have the length I need without problems. Uhm... I thought today was going to be a graduation party but nobody has called me yet so maybe not... Maybe it was next Sunday. Hm. I think I'll call him and find out. Yeahp... Okay nothing else new, I don't think.
