Number one: I applied for a job at UIUC that involves maintaining simulators using the Perl language and TLC which is apparently an extremely basic scripting language. (that I could pick up in a few days) If I get the job, it'll be quite the learning experience, as it will be my first job, and it involves some pretty intense learning I think. I've never done any work with a simulator before, and I imagine those things are not simple to maintain. Also, the job description said that experience with A/D converters is a plus. I didn't even know that A/D meant analog/digital so, I imagine since experience is a plus, that those are also a pain in the ass >.< But the pay is awesome, and I'll learn a ton so... cool beans.
Now that I've said that, it's on to the more fun things! LAN party tomorrow all the way through Saturday! More than twelve hours of LAN party! Wooooo! Ok, yeah and then after the party I'm going to try and stay awake long enough to go to a graduation party (we graduated what, a month+ ago now?) for a good friend of mine who happens to live only a few blocks south of the LAN party. Yeah, hopefully that will go well.
And onwards! I beat Deus Ex, and saw all three of the different endings. They all kinda sucked, it was kind of depressing to get to a bad ending after such a fun game. After I beat it I looked around for some cheats and found a ton, so I played the first level over again with a rocket launcher. Twas fun.
I paid for three months of WoW on Tuesday I believe, and it's been a lot of fun. I'm slowly edging towards level 60, which will be awesome. And now I can finally talk to Jordan. He's almost always on AIM but he never really responds. But now that I'm on WoW he usually responds on that, so yay.
Lastly, I mentioned last post that all my parts came in and that I got it up and running and stuff. Yeah, it is awesome. I didn't really notice how great of a card I bought until I started up WoW again and set everything to max, and the world changed so drastically. Now they is reflections on the grass and I can see the waves on the water as it slowly goes by... Everything just looks ten times better. I'm thoroughly impressed. That said, I still have some more things I need to get >.< My new case didn't come with any fans, so I'm pretty sure it gets kinda hot in there. I need to get a couple of fans, and possibly a light so that the side of my case doesn't look so bland. I just thought of how awesome it would be if I cut a hole along the bottom of my computer so that it would look like it had an underlight... That would be hilarious and yet awesome at the same time. Oh, and I need a DVD burner so I can clear up some space >.< My 120GB hard drive is almost full, only thing left is about 20GB that I'm saving for music. When I get to UIUC, supposedly I'm not allowed to download anything like that because the RIAA sorta forces them to check or something dumb like that. So since the RIAA pressures them, if they catch me then I'm pretty much screwed or something along those lines. So yeah, DVD burner so I can get a bunch more games and anime before I go off to college. Maybe if I get that job I'll actually be able to buy games... That would be cool.
Adion is currently listening to: Stratovarius - Infinity [9:22]
Stratovarius is... rock metal... sorta.
EDIT: Woah, I reread the last post. I completely forgot about registration. It went pretty well, and I only have one class that forces me to get up early, and it's a lab at 8:00 so... It can't be that bad. Then again, it's a Monday... And I found out that there are other chicks interested in CS. I was totally amazed, but that day alone there were two other females both in the computer related portion of Engineering. Also, they were the only two females in Engineering. I got my UIUC ID too... The picture's ok, but past that the ID is rather interesting. There's a magnetic strip on the back, so I assume that it has something to do with the food plans. It also lists pretty much every other piece of ID they gave me, from my "NetID" to my student number. mm... OH, and Dad let me sleep on the way there ^^ So I got about four or five hours of sleep before we got there. Wasn't even that tired afterwards.
