My birthday went pretty well. I ended up getting far too much stuff from Jenny and Mark, the Pikmin remake for Wii from my sister, and a 16GB iPod nano from my brother. Holy crap, nano's are expensive I don't know how he did it. Oh yeah, shirts from my parents, and they helped with the nano. From the Home Depot: I got promoted; went to training this Monday & Tuesday. Comes with a bit of a raise, but all of our managers are stupid and don't know anything about anything. Probably because we used to have people whose job it was to know this but have since been let go.

So far the promotions been pretty nice though. It's a cool change of pace and all in all, I'd say it's an easier job. I've been looking to get the promotion for quite a while now too, so I'm happy it finally came around.

I more or less gave myself a birthday present too, considering how much the parts cost me... Think I had a pretty good birthday this year. Now to look what I got last year and compare to myself. ... ... Hmm. Hard to say. Both were good.

Other news... I started up Kingdom Hearts 2, which I've had wrapped in celophane for probably close to two years now, waiting for me to finish KH1... which I never did. Too lazy to grind high enough to beat the final boss. So far I'd say it's probably a better game. But I haven't played it much. I guess 6 hours doesn't count as much at least...

I finished reinstalling Windows yesterday, took me a whole lot of time to get it working... The install disc I was using didn't ask which partition to install windows on, so I eventually had to unplug my other two hard drives. Working now though. Need to get a firewall again, the default Windows firewall probably doesn't cut it, whether I'm behind a router or not.

I felt stupid when I realized that the txt file I had on my desktop with all my passwords was encrypted... Looks like if I can't remember it I'll have to go the long way on a lot of webpages to get passwords again. Upsetting because I had a bunch of other useful things in that file too. Oh well. Didn't lose anything else yet, that's the good news.

Well. Let's see. I'll start with the title. I bought new parts for my pc last week, put them all in place on Sunday, and am now in the process of backing a bunch of stuff up so I can safely reinstall Windows and not freak out that I lost stuff. So basically my computer is good again. Wooo! I'm looking forward to replaying some games I beat previously on low settings because my computer couldn't handle it on high. It's going to be a lot of work though, and I don't have a whole lot of free time to do it all in so it's pretty slow going... Oh well. Cool nontheless.

I just got promoted at work, which is pretty awesome. I go for training on Monday and Tuesday, and I'll have to get up super early, but otherwise all is cool. Looking forward to the raise as well as the job, as it's essentially an easier job than what I'm doing, as far as I'm concerned.

My birthday is coming up on Sunday as well. I'm working, but for some reason they gave me Saturday off, so I'm going to do some celebrating then. Today a couple employees at work asked me how old I was, and were surprised when I wasn't in high school. I'm not sure if I should be offended or happy. Maybe sad? I guess looking younger than you are is a good thing though.

On the topic of birthdays, I went down to UIUC on the 16th & 17th to belatedly celebrate Jenny's birthday. It worked out pretty well, plus we all had a good time. I learned that there's an actual shopping mall not far from campus too, although it doesn't have the big stores you would think of when someone says mall. We went to a somewhat fancy restaurant in there for dinner; they had dueling pianos and fondue, it was pretty sweet.

Of late I've been having dreams that I actually remember for a bit after waking up, instead of the usual not thinking I dreamt. I've had some really crazy ones too... That I can't remember anymore. I think once my mom took my keyboard and mouse and replaced them with like, shitty ten year old ones that you might see at an aging computer lab and put the ones I had been using like, in my closet. Just to piss me off or something maybe? I've had other random ones too... I've had sword fights with trollocs at least once I think. The interesting thing is that I've only started to remember my dreams now that I've got a job again. Maybe it's the fact that I can't seem to get a full eight hours of sleep anymore, maybe it's sleeping when the sun is set; I may never know.
