.: Labor Day Weekend :.
Well, it looks like I'll be headin' home from U of I for the weekend. This is good because then my mother can do my laundry for me, and I can save some money too. Plus, she is willing to bring my bike down here, which will be pretty sweet. Anyway, I grabbed this from Senpai's LJ...
You are the Fool card. The Fool fearlessly begins the journey into the unknown. To do this, he does not regard the world he knows as firm and fixed. He has a seemingly reckless disregard for obstacles. In the Ryder-Waite deck, he is seen stepping off a cliff with his gaze on the sky, and a rainbow is there to catch him. In order to explore and expand, one must disregard convention and conformity. Those in the throes of convention look at the unconventional, non-conformist personality and think What a fool. They lack the point of view to understand The Fool's actions. But The Fool has roots in tradition as one who is closest to the spirit world. In many tribal cultures, those born with strange and unusual character traits were held in awe. Shamans were people who could see visions and go on journeys that we now label hallucinations and schizophrenia. Those with physical differences had experience and knowledge that the average person could not understand. The Fool is God. The number of the card is zero, which when drawn is a perfect circle. This circle represents both emptiness and infinity. The Fool is not shackled by mountains and valleys or by his physical body. He does not accept the appearance of cliff and air as being distinct or real. .: Day 1, The New Beginning :.
Well, my first day of classes has come and I'm done with classes for the day... I got up five minutes late for my first class. I immediately jumped out of bed, put some clothes on, repeated over and over, "I'm overreacting, I'm overreacting", and then ran to the elevators. I sprinted to the bus, took the bus to Illinois Street Residence Halls (ISR), ran the two blocks to the quad, walked the last half block to the building (because I already felt like a huge loser running through a mass of people), found the room, and tried the handle... It was locked. I look at the door and there is a sign that says only the lecture class is meeting this week. I managed to do this all in about 20 minutes, which would still have been horribly late, but I guess alls well that ends well. I walked back to the dorm and found my roomie already there, with a good friend of mine, Jenny...
The rest of classes went pretty well. My RHET105 class is only like 30 people so thats pretty cool... but my MATH220 class is like 200 people. Tomorrow is a discussion class with only 30 or so of those people, however. Sounds like an interesting idea. I already have homework from both classes, however the MATH homework isn't up yet so I can only do the reading assigned from RHET.
In other news, I was informed today on how to host a shoutcast server through a means that actually works! If you're interested in tuning in, you'll need winamp and also hamachi. Hamachi is a Virtual Private Network, which is what I host the server over. Further information can be aquired as necessary. If you're not on my AIM buddy list right now, you might have to leave a message on the shoutcast server for me to add you, because I have my buddy list set up to block people who aren't on it right now. Or an email. I'll delete the message on the shoutbox if you want me to however... As a final note, I am only willing to try and host three people at once, so if it's full its full... Not that anybody will listen anyway >.>

.: First Day :.
Well, I moved in to U of I yesterday, and things went pretty well. Moving in was kind of annoying, but that was to be expected when we have approximately 40k people all trying to move in on the same day. I've moved in with a triple, and both my roommates are pretty cool. I've met a bunch of people on our floor already, and the facilities are nice. The food is great, and I'm tempted to switch to a different meal plan. Our RA is a badass named Patches.
Yesterday I probably walked more than I have over the past two months. We stayed out til about 1 AM finding stuff to do (and there is stuff to do at 1 AM surprisingly). Uhm... Not too much else. I don't know when I'll have time to play on my computer anymore, since they have us schedualed pretty well. My desk is a little less comfortable than before, and I wish the chairs were about 6" taller, but its overall pretty nice. The only thing I'm worried about is that there is a piece of tape on a corner of a ceiling tile above my bad (I'm on the top bunk in a triple). Uhm... Yeah, everybody is cool here, there's a block party on Tuesday which looks to be a lot of fun... Dunno.

.: School :.
Well, it just occurred to me that since I'm moving into the dorms on Saturday, that I'll be packing whats left of stuff that I need to bring with me today (as in Friday). So, I probably won't be online today at all, or I'll just be away for most of it. I'm not even sure what all stuff I'll want to bring with me... There's a long list of "maybe I should bring it..."s but only a short list of things I definately should. Gameboy, CD player, novels, pillows... Gamecube? I'm half worried that if I bring my Gamecube I'll never stop playing that & my computer, and I'll never show up for class and then get screwed. Somebody is going to have to keep me in line, make sure I go to class and so forth >.< I forgot to go out to the store & buy a light for my case, and an extra fan. Oh well, the extra light would probably just be annoying, and the fan would be just extra noise. Ok, I'm gonna try & get some sleep now then...

.: Boring :.
I've lived 18 years, and the first time I drive alone, it's to return a movie. It's kind of depressing to think of all the possible things I could have done, but what ended up needing to be done (and also happening) was just to drive 4 blocks to return a movie.
In other news, Jordan's payin' for WoW again ^_^. Started on another sever, Kel'Jaedin or something. I now have a 58 mage on Azgalor, a 32 Rogue on Aggrimar, and a 5 rogue on Kel'Jaedin. I probably should have started a warrior there, since thats pretty much the only class that I think I'd have a lot of fun with besides a mage. Both end of the spectrums that way, taking no damage but dishing a lot, and taking all the damage and dishing mostly nothing. It's interesting playing a rogue, because they can dish a lot of damage, but they can take a pretty good amount too. It's like an easy version of a mage almost, only with stealth and the ability to kill a mage in two hits. But either way, all those classes are a ton of fun. Anyway, I'm going to go level with Jordan's warlock ^^.

.: Forgotten :.
Yeah, I posted a few days ago for the sole reason of posting this meme I take shamelessly from Senpai. Only, I completely forgot. So, here: If you woke up and I was in bed beside you, what would be your first thoughts? Respond! Other news... Softnyx (the company that made the game Gunbound) has made a sort of weird internet RPG combo game thing. It's in close beta (closed being all of North America and like, Korea) until... the 20 something I think. It's interesting, combat oriented and pretty fun. Takes some getting used to, but the learning curve is like 5 minutes. Leveling in that game is going to be terrible, so I don't think I'll stick to it. No XP rewarded for helping kill somebody, only if you actually get the last hit that kills him. There are mission like things, however, and you can level off of them really fast if you can actually finish them. There are like 8 different stats though, that can max 50 points in each, and you only get three points every level. Not good. Uh... So I'm pretty sure after my current WoW subscription is over I won't pay anymore. It's a lot of fun, but it's definately starting to gear downwards even though this should be the best part of the game. All the instances take upwards of two hours, and all I really have left to do now is get the last three levels to 60, and somehow get the epic sets. Not going to happen, my guild doesn't stand a chance of running Molten Core for it. So, I think I'm going to leave WoW for Tabula Rasa, which should be out shortly after my subscription is up. It looks good, and it looks like Phantasy Star Online I think, which is a lot of fun. So, yeah. Hopefully that'll work out... I think I haven't mentioned this yet here, but I found out who my third roomate is for U of I. His name is Johnny, and he has a facebook. So, after a quick glance around that I've decided that we have similiar interesets and should get along well. .: Days Go By :.
Well. It's been a long series of days seemingly neverendingly strung together into one mesh of a day. Last week was packed, and completely weird. I spent at least three days (Monday-Wednesday) at Sarah's house for her "going away" parties, which was a lot of fun until I got eaten alive by mosquitos (sp). I had a good time with that, and then Thursday came around and we all went out again for some ice cream at Coldstones (which has awesome ice cream). A part of me feels like I'll never see 80% of the people I saw that week ever again. It's kinda depressing, but then I remember that I barely know any of them, even if they are friends of mine. Saturday was an odd ball day, I thought I had plans for it but then they sort of evaporated. I went to Ralph's graduation party (last one!) for about two hours before leaving. At one point I thought I was going to go from Ralph's to D&D, but D&D ended up being canceled, so I spent the rest of the day playing WoW. I applied for another two jobs at U of I on Sunday, got no response from either yet. This week is starting to look full now, also... I'm thinking about trying to get one last LAN party hosted before school starts and I never see some of them again. Thursday is a pool party at Pat's house, and then Friday is a Risk match... Saturday is a going away BBQ at Marks, and probably also D&D. Not sure how I'm going to work that, I probably just won't go to D&D...
I finished downloading and watching Gunslinger Girl. It's a VERY good show, and it deals heavily with morals and emotions. I don't want to go into too deep of a detail, because the show is much better at it, but it revolves around a small group of girls who were saved from the brink of death at the cost of their memory. They all get new mentors (forming a "fratello"), and through brainwashing are conditioned to love/care deeply for that mentor. The girls are trained to be assassins, and they do things which could be considered wrong and so forth, but they don't really know why it's bad. My favorite episode is #3, where Rico meets a boy at a place she's scouting out for a later assassination job. They talk for a while before Rico thinks of an excuse to leave and become, at the least, aquantences. Later, during her actual mission, she sees him and kills him. It's a very moving show, and I really really liked it.
In other anime news, Naruto is finally starting to kick some major ass. I'm up to about episode 68 now, and it's getting really intense. I know a lot of people who don't like Naruto because he's kinda a jerk or whatever, but if you liked what you've seen so far, you should definately try to watch up to here at least. I don't want to give any spoilers, so if you're interested in Naruto, go look up some reviews of season three or just take my word for it and get it.
I leave you now in favor of watching the next episodes.
