.: Christmas! :.
Yay Christmas is tomorrow! Presents! It kinda snuck up on me this year. I remember telling somebody that Christmas was like two weeks away, and before I know it, it's already Christmas Eve. Crazyness. I spent all of today (meaning... the 23rd) out of my house, pretty much. I woke up around 12:30 or something, got a shower & ate some breakfast. Then, left for Mark's house to play Wii, which is pretty awesome. Harder to play than I thought, but it's hard in a good way. I guess. It takes finesse, perhaps? And you have to be more than a yard from your TV or it doesn't register correctly sometimes. We played Wii Sports for a bit, I suck at baseball & tennis, but I'm pretty good at bowling. Zelda is pretty sweet, the graphics are fine, I don't really know why people complain about them... I played the fishing minigame for a while, which was pretty fun... I didn't really play a ton so I can't say anything definative, but I had a good time. After Mark's house, I went home, had dinner, then left again to visit with some people I haven't seen in a while, one of them for probably about a year. We played a little Risk and then parted ways again. And now I'm home. Fun times. Hmm. I got a last.fm account a bit ago. Haven't really done much with it. Scrobbled a bunch of songs, but I'd say it definately doesn't know my listening habits very well yet... I guess once it finally understands it better I can listen to the station it makes? I haven't really found a use for it. It seems interesting, though. I got into the beta for exteel, which is pretty fun so far. The game works and all, it kind of reminds me of the level of completeness of the RO open beta. There's things I'd like to see in the game, like... More options, but it's pretty fun at least as a time killer. It's going to be free in the same way that Gunbound is free, which means you can play it, but if you want the really good items you're paying real cash. I probably should be spending more time on games that I've actually purchased... Like, FF12 & BF2142. I haven't played FF12 probably since the last entry I mentioned it in, but I understand I'm pretty close to the end, and am probably leveled enough to beat the final boss if I wanted to. I've been getting on the vent for the guild I was in back when I played WoW a lot, which has almost rekindled interest in it enough to make me want to play it again, but for now at least, I doubt I will. Too many other things to do. I wish I had a TV in my room... Maybe then I would play consoles more. Perhaps getting a laptop and plugging it in downstairs by the TV would make me play consoles more... If only I had money, heh. Merry Christmas to all, and since I probably won't be posting again til 2007, happy New Years too :P Adion is currently listening to: Boom Boom Satellites - Dive For You [4:14]

.: More Falcon Twin :.
If you just liked the webcomic, there's even more I discovered today, he posts podcasts about each strip and all the little details that I missed the first time through. It's basically just a nice little commentary on the entire thing, usually 10~20 minutes each, covering as much as half a chapter, to just a sixth. There's a ton to listen to, it's all pretty interesting stuff. He complains a lot about how bad he is at drawing, it reminds me of Piro from megatokyo, only I think Piro got over it. Bwahaha. It's also where I got my current away message, he was making fun of the stereotypical death in Japanese media, where the guy says something cliche and then just sorta dies. So he said, "I'm sorry, I could never eat your ramen..." and then dies. All the podcasts that he's released as of tonight total up to 421MB, so it's not for those with slow internet, I suppose. But then again, webcomics aren't really for those with slow internet either. I probably should be going to bed, my dad says I'm driving the first shift tomorrow morning, which I'm assuming is a joke because he should know by now that theres no way I'll be semi awake before noon, and we're supposedly leaving at about 8am. (which really means roughly 10) I suppose I should also finish packing, since all I have is clothes & my PS2 packed so I will hopefully have something to do... Perhaps by the time I come home I'll have 80 hours in on FF12, and be much closer to the end. Guess I'll find out. Adion is currently listening to: röyksopp - Beautiful Day Without You [5:20]

.: Still in a State of Shock :.
While bored earlier tonight I was wandering around the internet. I ended up following a chain of advertisements on webcomic pages to this webcomic called Falcon Twin. It's... the most enthralling thing in the world. I can't describe it. I saw the ad for it (which is the "your ad here." thing on the side of the page) and I thought it looked promising. It's amazing. Like... I can't put it in words how good it is. I hope this guy is a super success, 'cause he deserves it. In other news, I apparently am not traveling until Friday, and I'm coming home Tuesday. I'm... Still speechless, that webcomic blew my mind. Adion is currently listening to: nothing

.: Rescue :.
Not a whole lot to report... Today was my first of two finals, which was really easy. If I got an A on it (which is definately plausible), I'll get an A in the class, anything else (including an F) I get a B. Tomorrow is going to be an interesting final, I'm not sure how it's going to go. It's not a standard test-taking final, so... We'll see, I suppose. After my final tomorrow, I'm apparently going to Missouri to visit with relatives and congratulate my sister for graduating Central Missouri State U. (which recently changed its name to something else) I don't know exactly how long I'll be gone, but at least until Sunday, which is unfortunate. I have strong distates for being away from my computer for any length of time. I'm probably addicted, but I don't really care if I am, and it's not like I'm hurting anybody else with my addiction. (*cough* drunks) I mentioned a bit ago that I bought a PS2 on black friday, and FF12. I'm about 70 hours in, now, and I have to say it's only gotten better. It's all hectic at the start, the story is pretty complex and a lot of names just sort of rush by you without much time to grasp who's who. Playing with subtitles is nice, because theres a lot of names that are spelled horribly different than how they're pronounced (i.e. Rex is spelled Reks, and Vain is Vayne, reasonable. But there's Mt Bur Omisace (with the end of it pronounced like S ace)). I've got some minor quips with the game, like buying equipment could be a little more informative, not to mention more details about what kind of weapon can do what, since that is never explained either... For example, apparently ninja swords have higher combo chances than other swords, and I've never had any nonranged weapon get a crit before. But that's not mentioned anywhere... I'd like some better sorting in the list of marks I've taken (which are mini sidequests in their own right), and I'd appreciate it if the monster journal entry things (if you kill enough of a certain monster, it put's a little info page about that monster in a menu, and even more tells you some more information, that is actually useful as opposed to just an entry in a Zoology book) didn't always begin with "Being that" and end up in a fragment every time, with odd capitalization. It's the little things that I don't like, as a whole it's really good. I ramble. Basically, the rest of my week is going to suck, and if anybody has access to a teleportation device I would appreciate the use of it. That is, if it actually works. I'd rather not have my particles jumbled up upon exit. Amazed it took me 3 reads to find that one.

.: Evangelion :.
I finished watching Neon Genesis Evangelion yesterday morning, and the movies today. Hard to really put my finger on just a general thumbs up or down on it. Some of it was amazing, some of it I really wish they had done differently. I don't know how true to the manga it is (I assume there's a manga), and I kinda wish they would have just left out Asuka, as she doesn't progress the story at all, and personally I find her more of an annoyance than an interesting character. Scenes involving her are just bleh, and make me want to skip them. The show as a whole I guess is a thumbs up, it's worth watching at least. But it's not two thumbs up like most of the anime I've reccommended. I'd definately say it's a classic, and there are some really interesting things in the show. On the other hand, in my opinion, the ending was poor--in fact, the last two or three episodes were. I'm not too sure as to what exactly happened in the movies. That is to say, I'm not entirely sure I have all of them. Death and Rebirth was horrible. It was basically 73 minutes of the anime picked out and replayed in random sequence. I assume they made it to help clarify for some people what exactly had happened by playing it in an order that was less out of order... By which I mean that there were plot sequences threaded over multiple episodes that people may have lost track of, and they put the entire plot sequence back to back and then went on to the next in the movie. If you watched it on television with a week break between each episode, it might have been better. For somebody who watched the entire show in a couple days, it was a waste of time. What confused me is that at the end of the first 68 minutes, and after credits, there was a 5 minute intermission. Which I would think means theres more to it. But, unless End of Evangelion is part two to that, I'm not sure what is, because I don't have it. Which brings me to my final note, and that is the End of Evangelion movie is fantastic. It's truly great. Just enough action, and it completes the plotline of the story where the TV show just up and started being stupid. End of Evangelion was great for one because it was not just a rehash of the TV show that you've already seen, like Death and Rebirth was--it finished the story, created a plotline for the movie, and brought a worthy conclusion to them both. I'd be happy to go in more depth, if anybody was interested. Adion is currently listening to: Armin van Buuren - A State of Trance 276 (11/23/06) [120:17]
