Well, the title seems a bit philosophical, but in truth it isn't. Well. It is, but I'm not trying to be philosophical about it. Anyway, to get down to the point:
the Second Life is a new MMO I found, by scanning
Penny-Arcade, and noticing a promising advertisement on the side. From what I understand, it's godlike. It's a twenty meg download, and a one time fee of $9.95. It has great graphics, and allows for custom everything. You can design your own avatar, vehicles, anything. Some people use robots as an avatar. Anything goes. The website describes making a butterfly, and then scripting it to follow you around. From what I understand, it is very user friendly, and learning how to script is pretty simple. If anybody I know gets it, I'll try to script stuff for them when I get it if they want it. It comes with a 7 day free trial also, but you need to put in a credit card number first, or you can't even download. There's only one small problem: it requires Windows XP or 2000. I'm not sure if that also includes ME, since 2000 and ME are almost the same thing, but I plan on getting XP. Small problem again... I need to finish writing the college applications I'm writing first, or dad won't even think about paying. So, pretty soon, I'm going to back up my registry and all the stuff I have on C to my D drive which has like, 4~5 gigs open right now, and then install XP after wiping C. Hopefully, I won't be forced to kill myself with all the XP shit, and all will go well. If it turns out that I don't like the game, I'll revert back to 98SE if I don't like XP at all. We'll see what the future holds.
