.: More DS? :.

Well, Slashdot has some more news apparently about the Nintendo DS, due out November 21st this year for $149.99. From what I understand, it may have a range well beyond the initially stated 30 feet, up to 100 feet, and perhaps even greater than that by some sort of hot spot... The article says something about "Marionette" and perhaps free updates on some software, I don't quite understand it. Consoles shouldn't need to be updated, and the DS most likely will not have a memory stick to keep track of data downloaded, so perhaps it will be able to write onto the games? I don't quite know. On the official DS site, it mentions that the new cartridges will store over a gigabit of information, approximately 800 megabytes of data. With only the capabilities slightly better than N64, the games won't take up too much space based on the engine, but instead of how long it would take to finish it (i.e. RPGs have shitloads more quests & a longer story) If they got the rights to it, they could perhaps republish FFVII on two cartridges... But lets not get our hopes up.

Today was a fitness day in gym, which I hate oh so much... Ten laps (250 yards) is pretty hard for me to do. I can easily run well past that, but swimming that much takes a lot out of you. We tried to flip our kayaks over when we're halfway over, which I can't do at all. Maybe the kayak wasn't snug enough, I won't know until tommorrow. The process involves putting both hands on top of each other, and then smashing your left leg up, and right leg down (if you're laying on the port side) while simultaniously keeping your head down (so as not to use your hands to push up instead, possibly sinking whats holding you up), which I find extremely difficult. In the process of staying halfway over, my left leg is already jabbed into the leg pad, my right already at the bottom, so I have to move them into a better position, which in turn, makes me spin even more: pushing me to the 140 or so degree mark (assuming the y axis marks 0), past the normal 110 ish area, which barely allows me to keep my head up above the water. Tommorrow we're trying it again, so I might figure it out by then. What sucks, though, is tightening the kayak's feet position any further really kills your legs. Your feet go numb in a few minutes if it's too tight, and if its too loose you can't do anything right. I wish our kayaks had like, half notches... Then maybe my feet wouldn't go numb. He said they're $900 kayaks after the school discount, and a discount 'cause the paint somewhere was bad and wouldn't sell to normal customers. But since we're a school, we don't give a shit how they look, because in a few years the chlorine in the pool (which is well above safe levels I'm confident) will have melted through what paint they had anyway.

Woah, caught myself phazing out. Time to stare at something else for a bit.
