.: Curious :.
Not much going on around here... I don't think I've posted it yet but my dad got a 40" LCD tv maybe a month ago now, then a week later a blu-ray player to go along with it, and a week after that we got parts to build a media center pc that we've been working on since. It's essentially going to be a glorified tivo box. That's the biggest news around here. Getting it to work has been a pain in the ass, but it should all be finished in a couple days when we get a new video card for it, as the one onboard the motherboard doesn't seem to have drivers that work well for Linux. At least, not well enough to do what we want. Hard to say. We'll find out if that was really the problem in a couple days when we get it in the mail.
Mmm... other news other news... I saw Watchmen on Saturday at an IMAX with the usual crew from high school. Had a good time, and the movie was good too. I think that might be the fist time I've been in an IMAX before. I think I watched some movie in OMNIMAX before though, something about Mark Twain. I forget. Good experience. Mmm. I think the movie will be a hit or miss for a lot of people, not much of a middle ground. I've heard both sides of the story of why people dislike and why they liked it, that's my impression.
Been reading "The Wheel of Time" by Robert Jordan for a while now, just finished book three. Moving on to four tonight probably. I made brief comments on it a while ago without naming it. The January 23 entry. Well. Anyway. It's good. A little drawn out in places, but it has a good plot behind it. I suppose it's amazing that he manages to tell as little as he does in the 600 or so pages per book, but at the same time so much story. You get to feeling that the universe he sets it in is extremely real, everything has a reason, everything has a history. Each person is significant, in their own insignificant way. Little actions have long reaches. It's good.
